Not a Book Club

Friendship’s Not a Book Club is back! We emphasize building community and conversations around a monthly theme. The books listed will be utilized as a supplement to our conversations and we will share other resources with one another as well! We understand it can be hard to squeeze reading time in these days, so whether you’ve read the book all the way through or not, you’re invited and encouraged to attend the discussion!

Theme: Private Prison Industry

Book: Chain-Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

You will learn the culture at Friendship and how we work with our community, and then Chef Andrew and Pastor Shawna will offer two breakout groups, one for Kitchen Safety and one for Community Care as we build out our volunteer teams for warming/cooling hours, community gardening and community events.
